this is an essay on the first house. it is the first in a series of essays that i am going to write on the houses to help me understand them. i hope they can help others, too. or at least be interesting. i think that the houses are probably more interesting than people like to imagine. my suspicion at the moment is that they are even the reason why we have a Circle in astrology.
